One of the best ways to spend time on weekends is to watch movies. Some prefer going to theaters and some watch movies at home. Usually, DVD or CD’s of latest movies are available for sale in shopping sites like Amazon. The brand new ones cost higher but are of good quality and free of any scratch.

And the used CD’s even though available at lower rates will sometimes have scratches and this will result in images being frozen.

While playing video files if you have come across following problems like

  • Images get frozen but the sound continued to play
  • Colored blocks of pixels distorted the image for a time

This means that the video file is corrupted and the only way to fix this issue is by skipping the bad or corrupted video frame. Of course, this task cannot be done manually, but a software like DivXRepair can help a lot. This free program will search for undecodableĀ orĀ freezing frames and cut off the bad parts. Once done with this a new file will be created in the same directory where the old video file is located.

Divx Repair

DivXRepair is a portable software with a filesize of 424 KB. Once downloaded, just double-click on the DivXRepair.exe file to open program window.

Add one or more files and click on ‘Repair Files’ button. DivXRepair will start removing bad frames from avi file and save a fresh copy of video file in the same folder.

Overall, DivXRepair is very useful in case only a part of avi file is corrupted and skipping that corrupt part of video won’t make any difference, when you can watch rest of the movie without any disturbance.
